Just to make it more simple, let’s say we’re working on 3 orders. Here’s how you should set up everything before you start working on the 3 orders. Always having this set up in advance has you ready to go when you’re able to start actually working on the nails.
Note: Have two nail lamps instead of one. You can fit a set of nail stands under one lamp which can greatly reduce your time.
Having multiple sets of nail stands will cut your time down a lot as well. Here’s what you can do if you’re filling multiple orders:
- Lay out each of the nail shapes and sizes for the 3 orders you’ll be working on.
- Buff, file, and wipe each of them with alcohol.
Note: Make sure your nail stands are numbered somewhere where you can easily see. Every time you touch the nail sets you’ll want to grab them in the same order (1-3) so you don’t lose track of things like how many coats you’ve already applied.
- Place the nails on the nail stands.
Sets that require a glossy top coat should be on one side of your work area and the sets that require matte should be on the other side.
- Add base coat to set #1 and put under UV lamp for one minute while you work on applying a base coat to all the others, which will also go under for one minute as well.
- Next while sets 2 and 3 are under the nail lamps, start working on the polish for set #1…you should have your polishes already in front of you.
This will make a lot more sense when you’re doing it and you get your own rhythm. But you will notice you will cut your time down tremendously.
Tip: If you have trouble remembering what should be included on your designed sets… It may be worth it to keep this info in a notepad on your phone When you create sets try to get a picture using something like the HP Sprocket. (I’ve been using this thing forever) picture quality doesn’t need to be awesome just good enough for you to see what’s on the nails. I would make sure to have these pictures easily accessible nearby wherever you do your nail orders.
Tip: If you have trouble remembering what exact polish was used in a specific set… When creating your sets try to take a picture of the finished set and have the polishes used in the picture so the numbers on the bottle are viewable. I usually keep a folder of just nail stuff on my phone’s notepad so everything stays organized.
