3 EASY METHODS TO MAKE FRENCH TIPS
Once you have cured your neutral color and wiped it down with an alcohol wipe then you are ready to get started.
To accomplish this French tip my strategy is to pretty much cover most of the nail with gel polish. Before curing, I always use one of my POLY GEL BRUSHES dipped in alcohol and take my time wiping off the gel polish in the area I want to create the smile line of the French tip. Remember when dipping your brush into the alcohol make sure to wipe off the excess onto a paper towel. So dip into alcohol, wipe one side of your brush onto the paper towel then use the other side of the brush to create your smile line.
I find the poly gel brush the best for creating this type of French tip.
Make sure you’re wiping your brush as often as needed, keeping the area above the smile line free of any gel polish reside.
Don’t forget once you’re done you’ll want to cure then start the process again with your second coat of gel polish.
This is why I always say French tips should cost more because there is so much time that goes into creating them. After trying them I know you’ll definitely agree.
First, start out with a neutral color for your base color. I’m using Madam Glam’s Elegance. Once you’ve cured about two coats of the base coat then make sure you have your SUPER LONG 22MM BRUSH ready.
To accomplish the deep “V” I found it easiest to start with a little dot in the middle area at the tip of the nail. Also, make two dots at both sides of the top of the nail. When saturating your brush with polish make sure it’s not dripping with polish but that there is enough to carry your line from top to bottom. See the clip below for how much gel polish I have on my brush. Start your brush from the dot at the tip and drag it in the shape of a “V” toward the dot you made at the top. Don’t worry about filling things in yet. Do the same thing to the other side.
Then go back in and carefully fill in the sides using the same brush.
This French tip is by far the easiest and my strategy is to use a nail stamping tool.
You can purchas NAIL STAMPERS on Amazon here.
Again once you have cured your base color then apply a nice amount of gel polish to your stamper to create your French tip.
Take your press on nail and gently press it straight into the stamper just like I’m doing in the clip below.
Since your stamper is clear you can pretty much see how things are going and whether you need to move to one side more than the other, etc. I would practice this a few times until you have a general idea of how it works before curing. You could try it, then wipe off the polish and try again until you are satisfied with the way your line is forming.
Just remember to make sure to wipe off any excess that might get on the underside of the nail before curing.
Hopefully, these tips help you to create some bomb French tips for your press on nails. As you continue to practice you will come up with your own tips and tricks as well. Please let us know if you have any tips that you think could be added here in making this process even easier. 🙂
