Setting up a nail room in a small space can be very daunting, but I’m hoping these tips will inspire you to see what your small space has to offer. And help you to think of ways to make it work for you. When you’re determined, you can take a small corner in a room and make it happen if you needed to.
There’s something so powerful in making something out of nothing. Maybe you can dedicate a whole room in your house/apartment or even a closet. If you’re living with someone and only have your bedroom to use, or even if you share a bedroom and all you have is a corner…there is still hope.
Depending on your space you may be able to utilize some or all of the ideas I mention below. Also, please let me know if you have any other ideas you think will work great for a nail room in a small space…I would love to know.
This post is about ideas on how to set up a nail room in a small space.
IDEAS FOR A NAIL ROOM IN A SMALL SPACE
ORGANIZING CUBES (WALMART)
I have two organizing cubes by Home and Garden and they work great as a packaging depot for me, but you could use it with the bins and store more supplies. It does the job with or without the bins. There is also space on top to store even more. I use the top for my foil machine and some decorative items.
TV STAND (WALMART)
If you have a tv stand in your bedroom that has a lot of shelves you could use that as storage or just to make the space look aesthetically nice with decorative items. The better your space makes you feel the more productive you will be in that space.
ROLLING CART (HOBBY LOBBY)
This cart is one of my best purchases. You could literally use it for so many things. I currently use it for instance, when I need to get certain things done, but need to get out of my nail room. My daughter will sometimes help me make up more prep kits or pre-tape a bunch of boxes so they’re ready and this cart makes the process so easy. Basically, the cart just helps me to not always feel stuck in my nail room when I have things to get done.
DESK WITH DRAWERS (WALMART)
I love this pin-style desk from Walmart. The drawer spaces go sooo far back you can store a great number of things in this desk. You can also find so many desk options that fit your taste and have storage options with a google search. If you have a YouTube channel in the works as I do, you could add a tripod to your desk as well.
WHITE SHELVING (WALMART)–GOLD AND WHITE DESK SHELF (MARSHALL’S)
This wall shelf is from Walmart. Everything came separately, but this is what I have pictured here:
shelf slab
2 brackets to hang the shelf.
2 hanging baskets
A shelf above or on your desk will give you so much space to organize your nail supplies.
DRAWER UNIT (IKEA)
These Alex drawers from IKEA are a dream come true. If you have enough space take advantage of the space-saving this thing will give. It can store so much like gel polishes, extra nails, extra marketing supplies, etc. I was able to put my printer on top which works for me.
ART (Canvas Painting from AT HOME store and my original art)
Don’t forget some art pieces of your choice. You can draw them yourself or head over to Marshall’s, Burlington or Home to grab some for a great price. I draw sometimes so I included one of my own drawings. Things like this really help to keep me inspired.
Also, if you can’t paint your room you could try contact paper in/around the wall area surrounding your desk. These little touches will help to add your personality to the space. Since I may want to change it out often I usually won’t actually peel the backing off the contact paper. I’ll just use a little tape to adhere it to the wall.
DRY ERASE BOARD (WALMART)
If possible try getting a dry erase board to help get your ideas out or to simply remind you of the tasks you need to get done for that day. It makes me feel so accomplished when I check things off my board. And remember your board can be big or small depending on what you will use it for.
DRAWER CONTAINERS (WALMART)
I love that these containers from Walmart are clear so I can see at a glance what I’m looking for without having to put labels on them. I also like that while there are large drawers at the bottom, there are also slimmer drawers at the top. It’s nice to not have to worry about certain things sliding across a large drawer. This unit can also be used with wheels. I pretty much use these storage containers for things I don’t want out so for me I keep this unit in my closet.
Adjustable Table Light (AMAZON)
I set up a photo area in my closet and I use the top of an old dresser that I now use for supplies. I keep my fur fabrics in a bin on the side. You could also use the top of your desk area to take photos or heck if you need to you can use the floor! I purchased the marble cake stand for taking pictures as well. As long as you’re able to take a great pic it really doesn’t matter what setup you choose.
