Starting a press on nail business is so exciting! But all the planning involved and the choices you’ll need to make can seem overwhelming. Though finding your lane in the press on nail world can be a bit frustrating at first, when you have options in front of you in one place it makes it a little more manageable. So I’ve compiled this list of ideas for you to keep in mind as you decide the type of press on nail designs you will use for your business.
When I started my business I had no idea that there were so many options out there as far as nail designs. There are rhinestones and stickers but it doesn’t stop there…the variety of choices is endless!
To ease the stress a little I’ve put together this list of SOME of the press on nail design must-haves that helped me tremendously in finding my lane in the press on nail world. PRESS ON NAIL DESIGN MUST-HAVE
1. Beads–use them as space fillers between stones/gems or fill the entire nail.
2. Jewels/Gems–these don’t require much work just add an interesting color to the background.
3. Rhinestones–OMG the possibilities are endless…
4. Waterslide Decals–these are super easy just add water and slide them off. There are so many designs to choose from it’s ridiculous. So if you have trouble with hand art you should definitely try these.
5. Metal Chains–when I received these they were not what I was hoping for as far as the color. I would have liked a more muted gold, but the designs are nice.
6. Metal Studs–If you search around Amazon you’ll find that these are sold in rose gold, silver, etc and they are also found in other shapes as well.
7. Nail Stamping Plates–once you master the art of using stamping plates these are nice to have.

10. Blooming Polish–use a bit of alcohol and create so many different blooming or marble designs.
11. Stripping Tape–you can use the tape as a guide to painting straight lines or use them as the actual design.
12. Gel Nail Paint–make sure to read the reviews as all gel paints are not created equally. Choose based on what you’re looking for as some are very thick, while some others are thin and runny.
13. 3D Flower Charms–I love charms and how they help make the nail design come to life.
14. Nail Fluffy Balls–these are so cute and different but look best on longer nails.
15. Nail Stickers–polish with a solid color, add your stickers and top coat…and you’re good to go!
16. Self-Adhesive Nail Wraps–you might have to do a bit of filing to get them just right but they are a quick way to get an interesting look.
17. Foil Flakes–you wouldn’t believe the many different designs you can come up with using foil flakes and the fact that you receive so much of it makes this nail design item a must-have!
18. Flower Nail Foils–these are great for that quick and easy nail look that looks like it took longer than it did. You’ll just want to practice to perfect the art of applying nail foils (lol believe me there is an art) and make sure you have the best nail foil glue for the particular type of foils you’re using.
19. Chunky Glitter–use it along with some fine glitter or fill the entire nail, half nail, scatter the nail its really up to you.
20. Flame Stickers–super cute trendy design and this is really all the nail needs.
21. Dried Flowers–you could try a super feminine encapsulated look. Make sure to use gel glue before applying the flowers to the nail. Also, make sure the flower is pressed flat to the nail before applying and curing the builder gel to encapsulate the flowers.
22. Swirl Wave Lines–If you’re not too great with nail designs these can definitely make your life a lot easier.
